Just Be Held

This piece of heART work, titled "JUST BE HELD" was created in early 2024, around the third anniversary of my mother’s passing. It reflects the deep healing I’ve undergone since she physically left this world. During the process of painting this piece, my communication with my mother shifted profoundly. I began to see and feel her presence differently, and through the act of creation, I realized this was the message she was sending me. The title "JUST BE HELD" captures the essence of her love—a love that was always there, whether as a child or an adult. My mother embodied unconditional love and support for her four children, and this painting is a tribute to that enduring strength. Creating this painting, which is not for sale and never will be, was a profoundly therapeutic and healing experience for me. It now resides in my twin sister’s lounge, where it continues to provide daily support in her healing practices. To us, this art represents our mother in so many ways, serving as a comforting reminder of her presence.
Art has always been my most powerful and preferred medium for healing. After losing our mother, it became a vital tool in processing the grief and heartache that accompanied such a significant loss. I encourage others to explore their own creativity as a way of processing grief and navigating the profound changes that life brings.
